VENEZUELA CRISIS

Workers demand the Supreme Court rule on a lawsuit seeking a wage increase in Venezuela

Caracas, Apr. 15 (EFE).- Dozens of workers and union representatives demanded on Wednesday that the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), aligned with the ruling Chavista government, respond to a lawsuit filed in February against the Venezuelan state over the lack of minimum wage increases, which has remained frozen since 2022.

Attorney Juan Carlos Apitz, dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), stated that they submitted a document demanding a ruling from the highest court, which, according to the law, has five days to admit or reject the lawsuit, but has not issued a response since February 2.
