PHILIPPINES PROTEST

Protesters rally in Philippines over fuel prices, Iran conflict

Taguig City, Philippines, Apr 17 (EFE/EPA).- Protesters rallied on Friday outside the offices of oil company Shell in Metro Manila against the conflict in the Middle East and rising fuel prices, criticizing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over the government’s response.

Demonstrators opposed US and Israeli attacks on Iran and blamed the surge in fuel costs in the Philippines on global tensions, holding banners reading “Shell, greedy for profit!”
