Nepal marks New Year with Bisket Jatra celebrations

Thimi, Nepal, Apr 15 (EFE/EPA).- Thousands of people gathered in Bhaktapur on Wednesday to celebrate Bisket Jatra, a festival marking the Nepali New Year, particularly among the Newar community.

During the celebrations, devotees visited temples, pulled chariots carrying Hindu deities and took part in Sindoor Jatra, smearing vermilion powder on each other. (Camera: NARENDRA SHRESTHA).
