Hundreds of Orthodox believers attend Easter services in Russia

Istra (Russia), April 11 (EFE).- Hundreds of Russian Orthodox believers attended the Orthodox Easter service on Saturday, the main religious celebration for Russian Orthodox Christians, at the New Jerusalem Monastery in Istra.

Patriarch Nikon founded the monastery in 1656 as a patriarchal residence and chose the site for its resemblance to the Holy Land.
