China promotes elderly care with smart fitness centres

SHANGHAI, Apr 13 (EFE/EPA).— Elderly residents exercised on Monday at a community center in Shanghai equipped with specialised facilities for seniors.

The centre includes a sports and health area (Heartful Space, senior fitness facility) where participants use smart bracelets for real-time monitoring while training on age-friendly equipment.

In addition to health services, the facility provides affordable meals and social support, addressing daily needs of the ageing population. (Camera: ALEX PLAVEVSKI).
